no borders camp

this is a shout-out to everyone who helped build the no borders camp on both sides of the "border": you rule! That "border" began to melt away the minute we all stood in solidarity with everyone in Mexicali and then marched in the hot sun and then set up camp even though we were surrounded by la migra. it showed me that another world is possible. it showed me that they can bring out the barking dogs and floodlights and generators and intolerance, like the gestapo, but the people will prevail! it reminded me that there are people all over the world in the struggle to do away with borders. it taught me that most of the conflict on the planet has to do with private ownership, it's about defending land at all costs.

but the truth is, the land is no one's. it is sovereign. it can be tilled without chemicals. it can be respected without being possessed for the profits of a few. so many people are employed to protect borders that only serve to alienate them and everyone else around them from their own humanity.

i envision a world without borders. without border agents. without war and conflict.

i envision freedom of movement for all people and the other animals.
